The latest Google Pixel 10 rumors in a row

It is not inconceivable that the first major phone announcement will be that of the Pixel 10 series. We are secretly very much looking forward to it ourselves. It may not be long before Google officially unveils the series and in the meantime, there is plenty to report about it. We've listed the latest rumors for you.

Great 1: Magnets

Starting with magnets. Because the Pixel 10 may get built-in magnets just like the iPhone. That won't be called MagSafe but Pixelsnap. The magnets ensure that your wireless charger is perfectly aligned, but also enable accessories. Think of a phone holder for your desk or a ring for extra grip.

The incorporation of magnets is part of the Qi2 standard that allows for faster wireless charging, aligning the charger perfectly with the phone. Google is not the first to adopt Qi2 in an Android phone; the HMD Skyline was the first and currently the only one. More Android manufacturers do apply Qi2.1; a version of Qi2 without magnets. The Samsung S25 series is an example.

The reason Android manufacturers have not yet embraced Qi2 en masse is possibly because of the extra weight of the magnets. They also take up space at the expense of the battery. Alternatively, manufacturers often do offer matching cases where the magnets are built in.

Recent 2: Hub Mode

Following on from the Pixelsnap accessories, the Pixel 10 may get a special Hub Mode. When the latest Pixel is placed in a magnetic holder, the display of the screen changes to a kind of dashboard. This is very reminiscent of Apple's Standby-by mode.

In this, the phone displays the clock and other important information in an uncluttered way without much distraction. Ideal for next to your bed or on your desk. Simply place your phone on the charger and turn it a quarter turn (landscape mode).

Recent 3: Louder speakers

Good news for the audiophiles among us. The Pixel 10 reportedly gets the best audio quality of any Pixel phone ever. That's thanks to the use of all-new speakers, though how they differ from its predecessor remains unclear for now.

Record 4: Better video stabilization

Google is providing the video camera with a new kind of stabilization that is as good as a Gimbal. The Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra and LG Wing also have a built-in gimbal, so it's not unique. But it is good news for those who like smooth video movements.

Record 5: No more black and white versions

The Pixel 10 will also be a lot more colorful than its predecessors. Gone are the Obsidian Black and Porselain White colors we've been looking at for years. You will soon be able to Choose between Ultra Blue (blue), Limoncello (yellow-green), Iris (blue) and Midnight (dark gray).

For the Pro models, expect colors like Smokey Gray and Smokey Green. For those who are more into monochromatic colors, there is also a Light Porcelain and Midnight version available there that are close to white and black but not as pronounced.

Record 6: New Launch Date

Whether all these rumors come true will become clear Aug. 20. That is the latest date when Google is expected to unveil and launch the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. All four devices will be available for preorder on the same day and are expected August 28 at the earliest. Hopefully, the Pixel 10 series will run the latest Android version, version 16, out of the box this time.
