Samsung confirms arrival of tri-fold smartphone still in 2025

After years of concepts and months of rumors, Samsung has finally confirmed the arrival of a tri-fold smartphone. In fact, the device is expected before the end of this year. But still it remains a dream for us, why we explain here.

The arrival of Samsung's first tri-fold phone did not come from the first person. None other than TM Roh, head of Samsung's Device eXperience Division made the statement towards some journalists. There had long been rumors of an imminent Galaxy G Fold, the three parts of which you can fold to each other like a G.

Now that the Fold7 is official, with its tear-jerking €2099 price tag, we almost dare not think about how expensive the tri-fold will cost. It has to be above €2500 and maybe even towards €3000. For a phone, that is. That makes the market for such phones initially not going to be big.

Limited rollout

And Samsung wants to take that into account. So there may not be too many of them made and the launch will be very small-scale. Perhaps only in home country Korea and possibly in China. The expensive S25 Edge was also initially supposed to come out in a limited number of markets, something that later turned out to be wider.

That Samsung is aiming for a launch sometime late this year does not mean that the Galaxy G Fold will actually come out then. Numerous problems may still crop up between now and the launch that are difficult to resolve. You might remember the very first Galaxy Fold. Of that, Samsung postponed the release at the last minute after numerous reviewers reported a faulty screen.
