The Apple logo on the iPhone 17 Pro is about to change

No one in the industry pays more attention to detail than Apple. Everything has to fit, and everything has to line up. You won't find crooked USB ports or asymmetrical buttons on an iPhone. And the logo? It's been in the same spot for years. But starting with iPhone 17 Pro, that's about to change. But there's a reason.
The Apple logo has traditionally sat right in the middle of an iPhone. But Apple is introducing an updated design starting with the iPhone 17 Pro series, and that just gets in the way of a perfectly centered logo. And so the logo must relocate, to the bottom, that is.
Personally, we don't think the Apple logo in the middle looks wrong but it may have nothing to do with design. According to experts, it might have to do with the underlying MagSafe magnets. Both would get in each other's way and so Apple would have decided to move the logo down a bit.
Not the first change
For those screaming blue murder right now; Apple has moved the logo more than once. Only since the iPhone 11 has the logo been exactly in the center of the back. Before that, up to and including the very first iPhone, it sat on the top half of the back. Now that the logo has lined all positions on the back, the circle is complete again..
Apple will most likely announce the iPhone 17 series in the fall, possibly in September. The series will revolve around a new design where it remains to be seen whether the regular entry-level iPhone 17 will also adopt this style. iOS 26, which will be launched at the same time as the iPhone 17, will also feature a new design; Liquid Glass.
