OnePlus renounces signature design: OnePlus 15 design kicked off

OnePlus has big plans for the successor to the OnePlus 13, the upcoming OnePlus 15. The company is saying goodbye to the distinctive and eye-catching round camera island on the back. In its place will be a design that we now see from many other manufacturers as well. As if phones don't look alike enough already.
For years, OnePlus has been applying a large round camera island that then also places it not centered on the back but slightly to the left. Like it or not, eye-catching it is. You instantly pick out a OnePlus in the street scene. That prominence is about to change because the upcoming OnePlus 15 does things differently.
Although different, rather like others do too. Because the OnePlus 15 will get a rectangular camera island with rounded edges and now at the very top in the left corner. OnePlus already did something similar with the OnePlus 13T and 13s that did not come out here.
Phones are looking more and more alike
At the time, we already thought the camera island of the 13T closely resembled that of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. And Apple also places the camera on a platform in the upper left corner. With OnePlus also moving in this direction, the round camera module is increasingly disappearing on the street scene.
Besides a new design, insiders expect the OnePlus 15 to come with a 1.5K resolution display, a triple 50MP camera system, a battery of around 7000 mAh with 100W fast charging and Qualcomm's yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip. Big numbers for a potentially big device.
