Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 spotted in store, with hefty price

Samsung has come up with a new way to combat leaks. Instead of releasing phone names to retailers, they are releasing codenames. This was supposed to stop early leaks, but unfortunately for Samsung, it did not work. So we found the Fold7 and Flip7 early in a store with the corresponding prices.

Thus, Q7 is the code name of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and we call the Flip 7 also B7. We found references to both phones at an Italian electronics store including prices. No sooner did we have an idea of the recommended retail price of both foldables.

Prices are listed in Euros and British pounds, but we have converted them all to Euros for ease of reading. Listed prices include VAT, which is 22% high in Italy. Hold on tight because these are hefty prices;

• Fold 7 (Q7) - 256 GB: €2,227.71
• Fold 7 (Q7) - 512 GB: €2,309.03
• Flip 7 (B7) - 512 GB: €1,425.51

Comparing these prices with the recommended retail prices of its predecessors (with the same memory configuration), we arrive at €1,999 for the Fold 6 and €1,319 for the Flip 6. From this we can tentatively conclude that the new Flip7 and Fold7 are going to be €100 and €200 more expensive, respectively.

This is how Samsung is going to justify the price increase

Samsung can easily justify this price increase for the Samsung Fold7 because of its drastically changed design. For example, the device is rumored to be much thinner, possibly even becoming the thinnest foldable ever. The design of the Samsung Flip7 is also going to get a makeover, albeit a little less drastic. For example, the flip phone gets a full-screen cover screen.

Z Flip 7 FE

For those for whom the price increase of the Flip7 is still really too much, Samsung has the Flip7 FE. Whether it will be announced simultaneously with the Fold7 and Flip7 is still unclear. The Z Flip 7 FE is seen as a more economical successor to the Flip 6 with more or less the same features but perhaps at a lower price. Whether people wouldn't then be better off going for a now substantially discounted Z Flip 6 is the question.

Meanwhile, we know that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will come out in 256 and 512GB of memory and in Silver Shadow and Jetblack colors. We expect the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 with 256 or 512GB and the colors Blue Shadow, Coralred and Black. More colors may follow, some of which will be available exclusively from Samsung itself.

Announcement Galaxy Z Flip7 and Fold7

The launch of the latest Galaxy Z series is expected in July. Evan Blass previously mentioned the July 9 date with an announcement in New York City. Samsung has held product announcements there before. Samsung has yet to confirm the date and location, something that could happen at any time.
