Samsung Fold 7 spotted in real life, appears to be wafer-thin indeed

Samsung will announce the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in a week, but already someone got his hands on the blue one. Pictures of the moment have surfaced via X/@Jukanlosreve and we can say we're a little jealous. What a beautiful look! The blue color looks sparkling and the device is indeed as thin as claimed.

That we see the Galaxy Fold 7 in box means that Samsung has begun distributing it to stores. This strongly suggests that the device will be available just after its introduction. We did not have those signals, by the way, so it remains to be seen if this is really true.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 sits unfolded in the box whose outer screen has a protected layer of plastic. On it we see a physical SIM card pictured. Remarkable because you might think Samsung is opting for an eSIM exclusively for this thin device.

Looking at the bottom of the Fold7 from left to right, we see a microphone, SIM card slot and a speaker. The SIM card slot was still on the Fold6 on the side. Possibly the USB port was just dropped from the photo, but chances are it is also on the bottom.

Named Fold7 specs

Other specs mentioned earlier include a 200MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide-angle and 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The selfie camera inside is no longer under the screen but inside it, it will presumably remain 4MP in size. The 4400 mAh battery powers a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Samsung's main focus with the Fold7 is on thinness rather than improving specifications. Thus, the device continues to maintain an IP48 rating which means it is still careful around dust.
