First images of compact Xiaomi 16 appear to be in

We have already seen the first rumors about the Xiaomi 16, visuals not yet. Although the latter also seems to be a thing of the past with this new rumor. Appeared images of the Xiaomi 16 show a recognizable design with a few changes.

These appear to be CAD drawings of the Xiaomi 16. These 3D drawings form the basis of the upcoming device. The source used this drawing to create the image below. Previous rumors already told us that the Xiaomi 16 will be an approximately 6.3-inch smartphone with a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip and an immense 6800 mAh battery + 100W fast charging.

The design of the Xiaomi 16 is very similar to that of the Xiaomi 15. For example, the square camera module sits in the top left corner, it has a black finish and the flash is next to it. The camera is said to consist of a 50MP Leica camera with periscope lens.

Incidentally, we also have an image of the CAD drawing on which the source based the above image. On it, too, we can see a dual-tone back. Apple is rumored to be looking to do something similar with the iPhone 17 Pro. Possibly Xiaomi wants to get ahead of this trend.

It is rumored that Xiaomi plans to announce its flagship as early as September but will only sell in China for now. A European launch would then follow later, possibly not until early 2025 during the MWC. A similar fate befell the Xiaomi 15. Besides later availability, it also remains to be seen whether the European version will feature a 6800 mAh battery. Phones with such large batteries were previously released here with a lower capacity.
