Xiaomi 16 gets even bigger battery than thought

Previously we assumed that the battery in the Xiaomi 16 was a whopping 6800 mAh in size. A huge thing you would think but because of the Silicon-Carbon technology, that is not so huge. But now it turns out that that estimate was a bit on the low side.

For example, Digital Chat Station on Weibo now reports a battery capacity for the Xiaomi 16 of a record-breaking 7000 mAh. Recall that the time when 5000 mAh was big was not that long ago. So we are on the eve of a revolution.

The Xiaomi 16 promises to be a 6.3" large smartphone. Combine that with a 7000 mAh battery and the heavy user will be able to get the two days. Or, let's put it another way, the times when your phone is empty at the end of the day are over with this. Still, a nice prospect.

Typical vs rated?

So how did we arrive at 6800 mAh before? Possibly one is the typical capacity and the other is the rated capacity. There is quite a bit of slack between the two. The fact is that the Xiaomi 16 has a huge battery capacity.

How much it ended up being will soon be revealed. Xiaomi will announce its new flagship sometime in September for the Chinese market. Other markets may not follow until 2026. The device is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 with three 50MP cameras.
