Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 released in video, no crease in sight

A video has surfaced in which the Galaxy Z Flip 7 figures. Until now, only renders of the foldable device were known. Now that we see it in real life, it becomes clear just how much the device differs from its predecessor.

The Flip7 promises to be a major update. The design has been updated with a larger cover screen and a thinner body. Now that we see moving images of the Samsung Flip 7 we notice very different things again. For example, where did the fold in the screen go?

Other manufacturers had solved this problem before but Samsung lagged behind for now. However with the Z Flip7 that problem seems to have been addressed. We see virtually no crease in the video above. It remains unclear for a while how Samsung managed to successfully eliminate the crease.

New and larger cover screen

The images of the Samsung Flip7 show well the larger cover screen and how it works. It seems that you can operate the phone entirely with the outer screen, for example, a screen to enter the PIN code can be seen briefly.

In addition to a scaled back view of existing apps, a map view is also available where three to four maps are displayed on screen at once. We see maps for weather, Now brief, Calendar, Alarms, Calculator and Voice Memo.

Incidentally, the original video on X has been taken down, possibly following objections from Samsung. Samsung more often invites journalists in advance for previews, on the condition that they publish after launch. Sometimes something goes wrong there; after all, it's still human work. Still other times, someone cannot resist Samsung's pressure when they threaten legal action. What it was this time remains a secret for now.
