First photo of new Samsung S25 FE: is this all you get?

A leaked image shows a familiar design for Samsung's next fan edition; the S25 FE. But what do you get and where are the real innovations?
There it is, the first glimpse of the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE. A leaked photo shows the device in all its glory, and it feels like we've seen this all before. Samsung is sticking to the familiar recipe, but the question is whether you as a user are still hot for it. We dove into the details.
Put the S25 FE next to its predecessors the S24 FE and S23 FE and S23 FE and you have to look carefully for the differences. Once again, you get a phone with a completely flat screen surrounded by fairly thin screen bezels. The sides and back are also flat, giving the device a sleek, modern look.
The buttons are all found on the right side, and the back features the familiar Samsung logo. It's a safe and recognizable design, but it doesn't exactly scream "new.
Cameras and specifications
On the back, we find three cameras that, as with previous models, stick out of the housing as separate "islands. Next to them is an LED flash. Earlier rumors spoke of a telephoto, ultra-wide-angle and, of course, a main camera. The processor choice has presumably remained the same; the Exynos 2400e made in-house.
Qi2 with a catch
Of interest is support for Qi2, the latest standard for wireless charging. This should theoretically allow you to use magnetic accessories, similar to Apple's MagSafe. But here's the thing: The S25 FE gets the certification, but not the necessary magnets in the casing. So if you want to use a magnetic charger or card holder, you still need a special case. A bit of the pros, but not the cons for Samsung, and for you mainly an extra purchase.
Expected release S25 FE
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S25 FE in September. Nothing is yet known about the price. So it remains to be seen whether this "Fan Edition" lives up to its name again this year with competitive value for money, because you're not going to win the battle with just a familiar look.
