New video of iPhone 17 Air dummy released

We've seen renders, mock-ups and even molds. But now we see a mock-up of the iPhone 17 Air on video, and we can't deny that we're starting to admire Apple more and more. How did Apple manage to make the iPhone 17 Air so thin?

You have to be willing; one less camera for an extra thin iPhone. That's the consideration many an iPhone buyer must make before purchasing the iPhone 17 Air. There is only one camera on the back but you may still be able to get by with it thanks to some AI magic.

If the rumors are true, and the video seems to confirm that, the Apple iPhone 17 Air measures about 5.5 millimeters thin. Still, that's just a bit thinner than Samsung's attempt at a thin Galaxy: the S25 Edge. The latter doesn't seem to be selling very well, possibly because of concerns about its small battery with accompanying tight battery life.

With Silicon-carbon battery?

The battery in the iPhone Air also promises to be small, possibly 2,800 mAh, but Apple may be able to do better with it because it always makes hardware and software work together extremely well. Apple could also opt for Silicon-Carbon battery technology, which has more capacity in a smaller casing. But we wouldn't bet on that for now.

Apple may announce this iPhone Air as a One More Thing moment during the unveiling of the iPhone 17 series. The question remains as to whether we will see a Plus model there as well. Perhaps this Air will succeed that model. There are also rumors that Apple is splitting the unveiling of new iPhones into two moments. The Air and Pro models in the fall and the entry-level iPhone 17 and 17th the spring of 2026.
