Wrexham weigh up move for veteran striker Kieffer Moore

Wrexham are weighing up a potential move for Kieffer Moore, with manager Phil Parkinson confirming that the Wales international is on the club’s list of targets ahead of their return to the Championship.

The 32-year-old forward, who has 49 senior caps for his country, joined Sheffield United on a three-year deal last summer and found the net five times during the Blades’ last campaign.

Speaking to the BBC, Parkinson admitted that Moore is among the players under consideration: “Kieffer’s under contract at Sheffield United. He’s one of a number of players we’ve looked at over the summer,” he said.

“Like I said, the landscape changes in the transfer market very quickly from one week to the next.

“We’re looking at lots of options here and abroad.”*

A deal for Moore would add to an already busy transfer window for Wrexham, who are gearing up for their first season back in England’s second tier in 44 years.

Busy summer for Wrexham

With the backing of co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, the club has strengthened significantly.

Recent arrivals include New Zealand international full-back Liberato Cacace from Empoli, Josh Windass on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday, goalkeeper Danny Ward, striker Ryan Hardie, and midfielders George Thomason and Lewis O’Brien.

The Welsh club also approached former Manchester United and Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen earlier this summer, but those discussions did not advance.

Parkinson’s side begin their Championship season away at Southampton on August 9.
