Bayern Munich complete signing of Luis Díaz

Bayern Munich have announced the signing of forward Luis Díaz from Liverpool for a fee in the region of £65million.
The Colombia international spent three-and-a-half years at Anfield, helping the club to four major trophies, including last season’s Premier League title. He made 148 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, scoring 41 goals and doing 23 assists.
But with Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz arriving on Merseyside this summer, boss Arne Slot has decided Diaz free to move on and the South American was eager to link up with the Bundesliga winners.
Diaz said: “I am very happy, it means a lot to me to be part of FC Bayern – this is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I want to help my new team with my way of playing football and my personality. My goal is to win all the titles that are possible – we will work as a team every day for that.”

Diaz will bolster Bayern’s attacking arsenal which includes Harry Kane, Kingsley Coman, Michael Olise, Serge Gnabry and the currently injured Jamal Musiala.
It is the third biggest transfer in Bayern’s history but sporting director Christoph Freund was delighted to have snared a player of Diaz’s quality.
“Luis is dangerous, a goalscorer and at the same time he works a lot for his team,” he told the club’s official website.
“He is fast, a versatile footballer and brings an intense style of play. In addition, he has already gained a lot of experience at the top level with Liverpool and the Colombian national team. Luis Díaz stands for a total package that our fans will like.”
