Barcelona set date for Camp Nou return

Barcelona will return to their Camp Nou home on August 10, even though the revamped stadium won’t be completed.
Barca have spent the past two seasons playing at the city’s Lluis Companys stadium while they worked on their traditional home which had fallen behind some of the modern stadia that have been erected across Europe.
Their intention is to return for the traditional season-opening Joan Gamper trophy although there will still be work going on.

Barca’s ‘legendary temple’
A club statement read: “This comeback represents a historic moment for the club and its supporters. After more than two years of major renovations and a temporary relocation to the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, Barça will once again feel the thrill of football in its legendary temple, in the heart of Les Corts.
“It’s important to note, however, that this return will happen while construction work continues in various areas of the stadium.
“Remaining works include the completion of the new third tier, the dual VIP ring, the roof installation, and the final touches to various interior spaces, as well as the urban development of the stadium’s surrounding area.
“During this period, the club will strive to ensure the highest level of comfort for members, fans, and visitors to the Spotify Camp Nou, facilitating access and adapting services to offer the best possible experience.”
Capacity of over 100,000
When finished, Camp Nou will be the biggest stadium in Spain with a capacity of 105,000.
The move away from the club’s home did little to hamper progress on the field with Hansi Flick’s side completing the Liga and Copa del Rey double as well as reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League last season.
