Seattle Sounders 0-2 PSG: Champions League winners into last 16

Goals in each half from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Achraf Hakimi were enough for Champions League winners Paris St-Germain to see off the Seattle Sounders and reach the last 16 of the Club World Cup.
After a shock defeat to Brazilian side Botafogo last time out Luis Enrique’s side needed the three points to be sure of progress.

And the result was never really in doubt in Seattle once winger Kvaratskhelia touched in a deserved opener.
A corner was not cleared by the MLS side, Vitinha hit a powerful shot and the Georgian added a flick to deflect it home.
Full-back Hakimi – who opened the scoring against Inter when PSG won the Champions League earlier this month – added the security of a second when he was picked out by substitute Bradley Barcola and calmly finished.
Desire Doue forced three stops from Sounders keeper Stefan Frei while the hosts’ best chance came when Gianluigi Donnarumma gave the ball straight to Jesus Ferreira, who shot over from a tight angle.
The win means PSG won Group B and will play the runners up in Group A in the last 16.
Seattle, who needed to win by a margin of three goals or more to even stand a chance of progressing, exit the Club World Cup winless after three games played in their home stadium.
PSG are joined in the last 16 by Botafogo who progress despite losing to Atletico Madrid in the other game in the group.
