Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge gets thin and strong Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2

Ahead of the official unveiling of the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung has told what protective glass it is getting. It is a new type of Gorilla Glass called Ceramic 2, which is thin and strong at the same time.
Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 is reinforced with crystals in the glass, providing better durability, shatter resistance and transparency. A special ion exchange process makes Ceramic 2 even stronger. The S25 Edge is the first to use the new type of glass.
Samsung has been working with Corning for some time which more often results in exclusive collaborations. For example, the S24 Ultra came out with Gorilla Glass Armor that prevents reflection. It remained the only phone that year with that glass, despite rave reviews. The S25 Ultra that year there on an improved version what is more resistant to drop damage. Gorilla Armor 2 was also reserved for that one model.

We saw the first generation of Gorilla Glass Ceramic on the Motorola razr 60 ultra which was surprisingly announced only a few weeks ago. What makes Gorilla Glass Ceramic different from Ceramic 2 on the S25 Edge may be its thinness.
