NBA: League Announces Regular Season Games In Germany, England, And France

The National Basketball Association announced earlier today that the two regular-season games between the Orlando Magic and the Memphis Grizzlies for the 2025-26 season will be played in Berlin, Germany and London, England. First, the two squads will face each other on January 15th, 2026 in Berlin. Three days later, on January 18th, the teams will go head-to-head again in London.

The NBA also mapped out its European plan for 2027 and 2028. In 2027, regular-season games will take place in Manchester, England and Paris, France. Then, in 2028, the league will hold games in Berlin and Paris. The games will take place at Berlin’s Uber Arena, The O2 in London, Manchester’s Co-Op Live, and the Accor Arena in Paris.

“Announcing the next three seasons’ regular-season games in Europe reflects the incredible momentum and appetite for NBA basketball in France, Germany, the U.K., and across the region,” said George Aivazoglou, the NBA’s managing director of Europe and the Middle East. “We look forward to welcoming the Grizzlies and the Magic to Berlin and London and to engaging fans, players, and the local communities through the games and the surrounding events.”

This will be the Grizzlies’ first-ever regular-season game played outside of North America. The franchise previously participated in preseason games held in Spain, Puerto Rico, and France.

“We appreciate the opportunity to represent the NBA and to represent the city of Memphis and state of Tennessee on an international stage in Berlin and London,” said Grizzlies president Jason Wexler. “In order to undertake this rare opportunity to bring Memphis to an international audience, it will require the team to be away from home for MLK Day. However, we remain committed to supporting the Memphis community over the MLK Day holiday while the team is traveling, and we look forward to the Grizzlies once again anchoring the NBA’s MLK Day schedule in 2027.”

Previously, the Orlando Magic had played in 13 games outside of the U.S. and Canada. This will be Orlando’s first game in Berlin and its third in London.

“To have the Orlando Magic and the NBA play a regular-season game in our hometown of Berlin means everything to us. Growing up here, we dreamed of moments like this,” said the Magic’s Franz and Moritz Wagner, who were born in Germany. “It’s a huge honor to represent Berlin and Germany and show how much the city and country love basketball. We hope we can inspire kids the way we were inspired watching games from afar.” 

At this time, the dates and participants for the 2027 and 2028 games have not been announced. The league is expected to reveal that information before the start of the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons, respectively.

Both the Grizzlies and Magic are coming off seasons where they reached the playoffs. In the Eastern Conference, the Magic fell to the second-seeded Boston Celtics 4-1. Out West, the Grizzlies were swept by the eventual NBA Champion Oklahoma City Thunder.
