Liverpool complete deal for Kerkez

Liverpool’s summer rebuild has continued with the signing of Hungary international Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.
The Premier League champions have paid a reported £40million for the 21-year-old, who has penned a long-term contract at Anfield.
Kerkez has been a stand-out performer for Bournemouth the past two seasons, making 74 appearances for the Cherries after joining from AZ Alkmaar in 2023.
“This is the club that wants to win. Needs to win.” 👊

I have signed for the biggest club in England – Kerkez
He told the club’s official website: “I’m really happy.
“It’s a real honour for me, a privilege to come to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, [the] biggest club in England. I’m just really, really happy and excited.
“After this, I’ll go home and in my hometown enjoy a few days, and then I can’t really wait to come back and put the training kit on and start to train and prepare for the season.”
Kerkez will compete with Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas for the left-back berth, although it is now likely one of those will depart.
He will also form part of a new backline at Liverpool, who have signed Jeremie Frimpong to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold while they are reportedly interested in Crystal Palace’s England international Marc Guehi.
The Reds have also paid a Premier League record fee rising to £116m for Bayer Leverkusen forward Florian Wirtz.
I am going to give everything – Kerkez
Kerkez is excited to be a part of it.
He added: “I just want to thank everyone for really showing me big love, even before it will be announced now.
“And keep supporting the team like you support always, because you’re the biggest fan base in the world.
“I’m going to give everything – absolutely everything – to win trophies with the club and to hopefully score some goals at Anfield. I can’t wait to hear the roar. And see you soon.”
