AC Milan complete signing of Brighton full-back Pervis Estupinan

AC Milan have confirmed the signing of Pervis Estupinan from Brighton in a transfer worth £17 million, with the Ecuadorian defender signing a contract that runs until 2030.
The 27-year-old left-back has been a consistent presence in Brighton’s line-up since arriving from Villarreal in 2022.
During his time at the Amex, Estupinan made 104 appearances and scored five goals, playing a pivotal role in one of the club’s most successful periods.
He was a key member of the squad that secured Brighton’s first-ever qualification for European football in 2023, a campaign that ultimately saw them exit the Europa League at the last-16 stage against Roma.
Last season, Estupinan featured in 34 matches as the Seagulls secured an eighth-place finish in the Premier League under Fabian Hurzeler.
Hurzeler’s Tribute
Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler acknowledged the defender’s impact and wished him well in his new venture: “I have enjoyed working with Pervis and he has made a significant contribution to the club during his time here.
“He is at the stage of his career when he wants a fresh challenge and this opportunity to play in Serie A gives him that.”
Though the Ecuador international first came to England in 2016 with Watford, he never made a senior appearance for the Hornets.
Instead, he rose to prominence in Spain, particularly at Villarreal, where he was part of the team that triumphed over Manchester United in the 2021 Europa League final.
That success earned him a move to Brighton, where he quickly became an integral figure in the team’s attacking and defensive balance. Now, Estupinan will be looking to bring his dynamic play to the Serie A stage with AC Milan.
