Who has spent what? The 10 biggest Premier League moves so far

Manchester United’s signing of Bryan Mbeumo for a fee of up to £71m was the second-biggest move in the Premier League this summer.

United are in need of major surgery after an awful season and will hope the former Brentford man can deliver at Old Trafford.

It has been another big summer in the transfer market, with still over a month of the window left.

But what have been the biggest moves so far? All fees and stats from transfermarkt.co.uk

📰 Table Of Contents

Florian Wirtz – Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool (£108m initial fee)

A blockbuster of a move and one that could yet break the British transfer record if some add-ons are met. The 22-year-old scored 57 goals for Leverkusen and fast made himself the hottest property in Europe this summer.

Where will he fit in to Arne Slot’s Premier League champions? We shall see.

Bryan Mbeumo – Brentford to Manchester United (£65m initial fee)

Mbeumo seems a sensible buy, even at that price, after scoring 20 times in the Premier League last season for the impressive Bees.

He looks to fit in well with Ruben Amorim’s favoured system and should play just behind the main striker alongside…

Matheus Cunha – Wolves to Manchester United (£64.3m)

…fellow new face Cunha. Amorim cannot complain about being backed in the market this summer and in Cunha once more has signed proven Premier League pedigree.

The Brazilian scored 27 goals in the past two league seasons for Wolves and threatens to add some much-needed spark and guile at Old Trafford.

Martin Zubimendi – Real Sociedad to Arsenal (£60m)

Arsenal signed Mikel Merino from Sociedad and have gone back to repeat the trick for the deep-lying midfielder who makes teams tick. The Spain international was close to joining Liverpool in 2024 but has instead headed to the Emirates and will hope not to have missed his chance to win the Premier League.

Jamie Gittens – Borussia Dortmund to Chelsea (£55.7m)

The latest young Englishman to head to the Westfalenstadion and find fame, Gittens was on Chelsea’s books momentarily as a youngster but don’t tell the accountants. He is raw but quick and exciting – Chelsea are stacked in wide areas.

Mohammed Kudus – West Ham to Tottenham (£55.3m)

A big signing for new Spurs boss Thomas Frank, at his best Kudus looked brilliant for West Ham. His best days were not often enough, however, and there is the challenge for Frank.

Joao Pedro – Brighton to Chelsea (£55.2m)

Pedro has already done the business for Chelsea, scoring some superb goals in the United States soon after landing to help Chelsea with the Club World Cup. Already looks to be head of the long queue of strikers at the Bridge.

Anthony Elanga – Nottingham Forest to Newcastle (£53.2m)

An exciting addition for Newcastle as they plan for the Champions League, electric Elanga was superb for Forest last season. Rapid, direct and a sneakily good finisher in front of goal.

Noni Madueke – Chelsea to Arsenal (£48m)

A move that hasn’t gone down too well with some fans but Madueke has been good for Chelsea in spells and has broken into the England squad. Whether he will back up Bukayo Saka or play alongside him remains to be seen.

Tijjani Reijnders – AC Milan to Manchester City (£47.6m)

A very solid signing that may have gone under the radar a touch, the Dutchman looked excellent at times for AC Milan and can either sit deep alongside Rodri or bomb on and join the attack.
