Liam Delap leads nominees for PFA Young Player of the Year award

New Chelsea striker Liam Delap is among the six nominees for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
Delap moved to Stamford Bridge earlier this month after Chelsea paid a reported £20million, plus add-ons, to sign him from Ipswich.
The 22-year-old scored 12 goals in 37 games for the Tractor Boys last season but couldn’t prevent them from making an immediate return to the Championship.

Real Madrid defender Huijsen shortlisted
Another player listed who is no longer at the same club is Dean Huijsen.
The centre-half impressed for Bournemouth before making the switch to Real Madrid for £50m. Huijsen made his Madrid debut yesterday in the 1-1 draw with Al-Hilal at the Club World Cup in the United States.
Huijsen’s former Bournemouth team-mate Milos Kerkez is included after a string of impressive displays at left-back for the Cherries.
The Hungary international is believed to be close to a move to Liverpool.
Arsenal duo included
Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers and Arsenal duo Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri round out the list.
Rogers had an excellent first full season at Villa Park as Unai Emery’s men reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League. He also made his England debut, as did Lewis-Skelly, who has emerged as the first-choice left-back for club and country following his emergence at the Emirates.
Nwaneri is perhaps the surprise inclusion. The 18-year-old made 11 starts for the Gunners in the Premier League as Mikel Arteta’s men suffered injuries to key players in forward and wide areas.
The winner will be announced at the PFA awards night on August 19.
